Position Title: Food Safety & Quality Training Lead

Reporting to the Food Safety-Quality Compliance Manager, the Training Specialist is accountable for developing, implementing, and continually improving the training program for the corporate and factory Food Safety-Quality functions.  This position will develop, measure, track and guide learning strategies and approaches to build Food Safety capabilities in a way that will influence and strengthen the outcome of the organization’s strategic goals.  The Training Specialist leads the training program to achieve an interactive and effective program that delivers the planned outcomes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Develop, execute and continually improve a documented training program covering the training needs of Food Safety-Quality personnel at the corporate and factory levels
  • Identify the necessary competencies for specific corporate and factory roles.  Develop and execute a Competency Matrix
  • Coordinate training to ensure staff have the necessary competencies
  • Review the effectiveness of training
  • Develop and execute an annual training plan.  Coordinate annual Food Safety-Quality training for factory and corporate teams
  • Partner with external training providers
  • Establish a Train-the Trainer program.  Foster the development of internal subject matter experts through coaching to leverage internal training resources and promote knowledge transfer within the organization
  • Establish a Food Safety-Quality onboarding program.  Includes development of role specific onboarding plans for Quality professionals and creating a plan for tracking and measuring completion for factory and corporate
  • Coordinate New Hire Orientation - create schedule, train the trainers, monitor trainer competencies
  • Manage the IT learning platform for Food Safety-Quality content
  • Control training expenses and manage expenditures to meet the training needs
  • Track, trend and report compliance to the training plan
  • Other duties may be assigned


Education/ Experience:

 

  • Bachelor of Science , Adult Education, Business, or related field, or an equivalent amount of related experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food manufacturing or related field
  • Knowledge of training and development practices and methods, continues curriculum development including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials for the variety of technical and ownership skills
    Skills and ability to facilitate learning through a combination of online, classroom, hands-on, virtual and on-the-job training
  • Strong presentation, group facilitation and public speaking skills, confidence in influencing, consulting and partnering with various audiences
  • Travel required up to 30%
