Ready to lead and make a direct impact? We’re looking for a hands-on and motivated Shift Manager to lead production operations at our Easton facility. This is more than just a supervisory role—you’ll be the go-to person for managing production, maintenance, and inventory control while fostering a positive and high-performing team environment.

 

As the key onsite decision-maker, you’ll handle day-to-day operations, oversee seasonal staff, and ensure the facility runs smoothly and efficiently. Accountabilities:

 

  • Actively communicate product being made to operators and supervisors in all departments. 

 

  • Administer supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  

 

  • Advise, coordinate and lead all activities within area of responsibility at the Easton facility.  

  

  • Assist in preparation for, completion, review, and follow up, for audits. 

 

  • Commend employees on successful work habits. 

 

  • Communicate line status as changes occur to packaging supervisor, production supervisor and control room. 

 

  • Confer with quality control personnel throughout shift to ensure compliance with customer specifications. 

 

  • Coordinate the efficient use of raw materials and ingredients in the making of French fries and specialty products. 

 

  • Determine product cuts available for packaging. 

 

  • Direct and coordinate necessary grading changes to meet quality standards. 

 

  • Direct and coordinate packaging changeovers throughout shift to meet schedule. 

 

  • Discipline employees as necessary. 

 

 

  • Ensure good manufacturing practices are followed by processing, packaging and support personnel directly or indirectly involved in the manufacturing of products in the Easton facility. 

 

  • Ensure overall administrative responsibilities are fulfilled. 

 

  • Evaluate job performance with each employee. 

 

  • Evaluate product placed on hold, work with Q.C. Department to determine disposition of product in question.  

 

  • Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures – safety, sanitation, GMP’s. 

 

  • Help to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company. 

 

  • Implement McCain Competitive Edge and Lean Manufacturing practices relative to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP). 

 

  • Inspect physical condition of their respective areas and equipment. Ensure work orders for repairs and requisitions for the replacement of equipment are completed. 

 

  • Investigate and report on any foreign matter/material found in product or packaging. 

 

  • Maintain all reporting done on day-to-day operation, such as payroll, cleaning schedules, recovery reports, and performance reviews. 

 

  • Monitor general operations through use of computers and control sheets to know production and equipment status. 

 

  • Monitor product quality. 

 

  • Monitor tote inventory and adjust line rate as necessary. 

 

  • Monitor work habits and productivity of employees. 

 

  • On-site Requirement - Must perform duties onsite, except those duties which are customarily or by nature performed offsite, such as meeting with customers offsite at their request or for marketing purposes. 

 

  • Perform all duties on either day or night shift as assigned, and/or required by demands. 

 

  • Prepare work schedules. 

 

  • Recommend methods of improving productivity of employees 

 

  • Refer to master product schedule to determine that the proper amount of the labels required are packed. 

 

  • Responsible for staffing and the development of personnel in their respective areas. 

 

  • Rework products are on hold status for inadequate quality. 

 

  • Schedule product labels to be packed/repacked during shift. 

 

  • Schedule vacations for all personnel responsible for. 

  

  • Work cohesively with all plant management and staff. 

 

  • Other projects/duties as assigned or needed. 

 

 

  • Manage all processing or packaging personnel. 

  

  • Production Supervisor

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  

 

  • Four-year degree from college or university and/or five years of production experience.   

 

  • Strong leadership, reasoning, and judgment will be required to facilitate proper planning and implementation.

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

  • Maintain effective relationships with peers, direct staff, and hourly personnel
  • Take timely and effective actions to control unfavorable expenditure trends.
  • Identify and exploit opportunities to improve MTTR and MTBF, monitor downtime, department KPI’s, and trends.
  • Follow the McCain safety, loss prevention and environmental programs by holding themselves and all team members accountable to its tenets
  • Maintain environmental compliance by ensuring all equipment is adequately maintained and operating to design specifications
  • Develop housekeeping practices to obtain world-class standards
  • Communicate to inform, engage and inspire. Emphasizes communications as a tool to build collaboration and ensure organizational alignment

Compensation Package: $65,500.00 to $87,400.00 USD annually + bonus eligibility + Long Term Incentive eligibility

 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
