Job Description:

As the Director of Data Platform Governance at McCain, you will be responsible for developing and implementing governance strategy for Enterprise data assets. You will lead result-oriented cross-functional engineering teams, partnering with business transformation leaders to implement data governance solutions to drive consistency and alignment across McCain's diverse business units and regions.

This role demands a deep understanding of CPG master data governance and requires technical expertise in SAP, Salesforce, data profiling tools, cloud platforms, and reference data systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Governance:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive data governance framework, encompassing data quality, privacy, and security, to ensure the integrity and accuracy of McCain's data assets.
    • Establish SOP and document process flows for all data governance initiatives.
    • Engage with business transformation stakeholders globally to drive best practice sharing and adoption.
    • Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance policies, raising awareness of its importance for McCain's success, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Data Quality and Security Management:
    • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of data quality standards.
    • Define quality standards to maintain data accuracy across systems and platforms.
    • Establish metrics and KPIs to enable clear reporting of the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of McCain's data assets.
    • Build and deploy data quality management tools to monitor data quality systematically, remediate data issues, drive continuous improvements via alerting and automation.
    • Partner with engineering teams to implement data governance rules and policies in medallion data architecture, ensuring automation upfront.
  • Data Security, Compliance and Risk Management
    • Oversee data security and privacy measures to protect McCain's data assets from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards.
    • Identify and mitigate data-related risks across various business processes.
  • AI Governance:
    • Establish governance frameworks for AI systems and machine learning models to ensure ethical and responsible use.
    • Implement monitoring and validation mechanisms for AI models to maintain accuracy and fairness.
    • Collaborate with AI and data science teams to integrate governance practices into the AI lifecycle, from development to deployment.
    • Ensure transparency and accountability in AI algorithms and decision-making processes.

Qualifications 

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Expertise in data governance principles, methodologies, and best practices in CPG industry.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data governance and analytics, including 3 years with CRM tools.
  • Expertise in Reference Data Management, Data Catalog and Data Quality tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data governance in a cloud environment.
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms and Lakehouse technology.
  • 10+ years leading data teams in a global organization.
  • SAFe Agile and Lean Six Sigma MBB certifications are preferred.

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and defining a way forward to deliver results with aggressive timeline.

Compensation Package: 146,200 - 195,000 CAD annually + bonus eligibility + Long Term Incentive eligibility

 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
