McCain Food’s facility in Wisconsin Rapids/Plover, Wisconsin is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 500 employees. This site specializes in the production of french fries and mashed potatoes and produces roughly 3 million pounds of french fries a day!  

Position Summary:

 

As the B&R Operator/Technician you will operate, maintain, and modify the boiler and refrigeration systems under slight supervision.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1.

Knowledge of tools and instruments to operate, repair, install, and adjust boiler, refrigeration, oil and air systems and conducts tests on systems as needed.

2.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies to ensure employee safety. Oversee compliance audits as requested.

3.

Provide training and guidance to other B&R Operators or other maintenance departments Assist new hires - familiarize them with current operations and regulations required in working in this area.

4.

Familiar with PSM and assist with training modules and updates. Perform job duties to meet requirements and regulations such as PSM and FM.

5.

Responds to trouble calls routinely and efficiently.

6.

Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to analyze data, draw logical conclusions with minimal guidance, and deal with problems in standardized situations

7.

Personal experience with boiler and refrigeration functions, understanding of regulations working in this area, and familiar with daily safety needs.

 
 

Qualifications:

  • Must have a solid background in servicing and repairing boiler and refrigeration equipment.
  • Requires constant care to avoid moderate damage to equipment and considerable care to avoid moderate damage of product and serious injury of self and others.
  • Must have own tools to perform related tasks safely.
  • Must have good understanding of mechanical, electrical prints, schematics, wiring diagrams associated with field.
  • Involves working in extreme temperatures, possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and gases, and considerable exposure to very intense noise.
  • Required to wear a respirator and pass required associated testing.

 

 

Physical Demand:

 

Constant: Walking, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, and twisting at the neck and waist. Walking up and down a flight of stairs. Requires a high degree of physical effort and occasionally working in awkward positions.
