The Finance organization is organized around the following pillars: Accounting, Commercial Controlling, Financial Planning and Analysis, Integrated Supply Chain, Agriculture and Business Process Improvement.

Each pillar provides the Senior Management with a unique range of experience and portfolio of qualifications across a broad range of disciplines, with deep involvement in control, compliance, change management, strategic initiatives and efficiency improvement recommendations.



The SG&A Controller assumes responsibility for driving Sales, General and Administrative expenses for the Continental Europe region. As a true transversal business partner, the SG&A Controller will be the key point of contact for functional leaders on SG&A costs planning and control.

  • The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, commercial business savvy and hands-on involvement in the day to day business.
  • The incumbent will work on a daily basis with all areas of the organization ensuring both alignment of expenses with expectations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • The role reports to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Director.

èForecasting / budgetting

  • The FP&A Department coordinates the entire quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process, ensuring consistency across the whole chain. The SG&A Controller will be responsible for the following:
    • Assumptions validations: the controller will work directly with cost center owners and senior leaders to build robust assumptions for each function, taking into account inflation, project costs, fixed costs, etc. Together with function leaders, the SG&A Controller will guarantee challenged yet achievable targets are considered within the forecast exercise.
    • Headcount/Labor costs: The controller will work together with the HR department to ensure accurate headcount information is considered in the forecast. The controller will also work with payroll and HR departments to compute accurate labor costs.
    • Key drivers analysis: Understanding the key rationale behind the numbers is of utmost importance. In coordination with functional leaders, the SG&A Controller will provide sound interpretation of variances in order to build strong narratives. The SG&A Controller will be expected to present assumptions to the FP&A director and senior management for approval. 
    • Risks and Opportunities: identification and quantification of risks and opportunities to be included in the forecast exercise.
    • Zero based budget: The SG&A controller will be responsible for implementing a zero based budget approach for specific cost natures across the region. This will include building an appropriate plan and also ensuring strict control of spending on a monthly basis.


èFinancial analysis and reporting on business performance

  • Providing the FP&A director and Senior Management with a clear understanding of business performance is a key part of the role. As such, the SG&A Controller produces regular performance reports, including:
    • Preparation and distribution of insightful financial analysis on SG&A, highlighting progress against the annual budget and quarterly forecast.
    • Monthly review meetings with cost centre owners and senior leaders to comment on variations and decide on remediation plans as necessary.
    • Monthly headcount and labour cost reporting.
    • Continuous review of existing processes and tools to enhance reporting efficiency.

èClosing process

  • The FP&A team assumes ownership of the closing process, as such, the SG&A controller will be responsible for:
    • Working closely with the accounting department to certify consistency of main accounting entries and anticipate major changes that could materially affect results.
    • Together with the FP&A Director, allocation and recharge rules will be reviewed to certify their rationality vs. the business reality.
    • Responsible for monthly accruals.





  • Self-motivated person
  • Strong financial modelling skills and ability to manage large and complex databases.
  • Think analytically, synthesize financial data and develop solutions.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple deliverables simultaneously with a sense of urgency.
  • Adherence and respect for strict regional and corporate deadlines to ensure timely reporting.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide financial planning software systems (e.g., Hyperion, SAP, OneStream).


And as well, you must also …

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics considered an asset.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred but not required.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluent in English (oral, verbal, and written communication skills).
