Our Timaru French Fry Plant is looking for a Production Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this is a pivotal role within our Plant Leadership Team, with responsibility for the medium and long term strategic direction and accountability for the plant’s daily operations.  

The Production Manager will also be responsible for overseeing the implementation and sustainment of all the Plant Programs, Policies and Procedures.

• Play a key role within the Leadership Team
• Actively assist with operational cost reduction 
• Ensure comprehensive staff development and training
• Implement and sustain Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Successful delivery on all safety, quality, cost, people and environment actions
• Accountability for the quality of all production
• Have a ‘hands on’ approach to Employment Relations
• Accountable for the Environmental Program

About you

• 3+ years management experience in Food Science, Manufacturing or Process Engineering
• Relevant Tertiary qualification 
• FMCG food processing experience (preferably potato)
• Demonstrated knowledge of Manufacturing processes
• Team player with good organisational, people and communication skills
• Results orientation, a logical thinker with good problem solving skills
• Analytical/creative thinker with proven cause/effect or fault analysis
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control, lean principles and/or Six Sigma methodology
• Able to lead, coach and develop the team to perform given KPI’s
