Position Title: Potato Supply and Storage Manager

We are searching for our new supply and storage manager as a part of our agriculture team, responsible for control of the operation and management of Potato supply and Potato storage operations, planning and logistics.

The role will work closely with all levels of the Timaru plant and growers, including providing high level strategic overviews of potato storage facilities; including involvement in storage contractors’ contract negotiations, long-term management and analysis and capital projects.

About the role

• Deliver new systems in systemising Agriculture and the Agriculture Digital Strategy in New Zealand
• Coordinate with multiple suppliers, contractors, trucking, production, and other McCain departments to supply potatoes to factory and storages
• Provide technical support to the Suppliers and farmers to achieve the required quality and quantity of potatoes focusing on storage and truck turnaround initiatives
• Raise capitals requests for continuous improvement and new technologies
• Ensure that adequate resources are in place to receive, store, quality control and deliver potatoes to meet schedule and planned operations, and ensure day to day management of the potato stores.
• Work within the local team that can cover all storage and quality requirements

About you

• Agricultural Degree or similar or experience
• Good communication skills, and machinery knowledge
• Understanding of Quality systems GMP & HACCP
• Strategic thinker, able to analyse trends and formulate plan for future growth
• Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to prioritise multiple tasks
• An Approved handler certificate for Hazardous Substances (HSNO)
