ABOUT THE ROLE

 

Lead the management of our Potato Store, overseeing grading operations and ensuring top-quality product delivery to our Plant.

Are you ready to take charge of a vital role in our Agriculture department? We’re seeking a dynamic individual to lead our Potato Store operations in Scarborough!

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


•    Work with the Potato Supply & Operations Manager and Scheduling team to plan and execute on site grading and storage

•    Work with the Potato Supply & Operations Manager and scheduling team to plan the delivery of product to the grader as appropriate to grade out wedge material. Managing this product in the stores, ensuring full traceability and quality checks are carried out and completed.

•    To manage the intake of product into stores, managing a team of temporary staff to drive consistency across the Stores and ensure safe, quality controlled intake of product. 

•    Manage the loading out of product to agreed plan, including liaising with Potato Receiving and the Schedulers to advise on loading requirements


•    Take responsibility for the management of crop in store, including regular auditing to check quality, temperatures, shrink loss, hot boxes etc

•    Identify potential issues regarding crop quality, storage availability, and suggest solutions or implement corrective actions as appropriate.

•    Deal with temporary loads both into and out of store, identifying the best solution to immediate business needs.

•    Conduct regular safety audits, HACCP audits and general monitoring to maintain high Health and Safety and Food Safety standards.

•    To own the training plan for Scarborough stores and ensure that training happens effectively, ensuring that each member of the team have the skills required to perform their roles effectively


•    Be the site point of contact for Banksman training, ensuring that all members of the team are trained appropriately, and that refresher training is booked in. Supporting other sites with refresher training as required.

Experience:

 

•    Experience of delivering results through people – Essential
•    Experience of working within potato store – Essential
•    Experience of managing and sourcing supply in a fast moving dynamic environment – Essential
•     Experience of administration and computer systems – Essential 

 

Knowledge:

 

•    Knowledge of stores processes, requirements and best practice – Essential
•    Agricultural knowledge and knowledge of sampling – Essential
•    Knowledge of potato receiving and processes – Essential 
•    Knowledge of scheduling – Essential
•    Strong commercial acumen – Desirable 
•    Knowledge of key systems including PC&R – Desirable
