Position Title:Operations Utility Worker 2nd or 3rd shift

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time ​

This position will be a floater between material handling, line leader, packaging technician, onion prep, and onion separating.  Pay will be $21.91 per hour.  Openings on both 2nd and 3rd shifts.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

RECEIVING DUTIES / FOR THOSE TRAINED IN SAP

*  Unload semi-trucks of raw and packaging materials by using a fork lift and transport to the warehouse ensuring that the area is kept clean and organized.

*  As needed, stack 50 lb bags of onions and breading onto pallets.

*  Receive oil and beer loads by assisting the delivery personnel and monitoring gauges.

*  Secure trailers using trailer jacks, chocks, dock locks, and can operate dock doors, dock plates, and dock locks.

*  Understand the scheduling procedures for incoming deliveries of materials. 

*  Know how to reschedule appointments.

*  Understand the lot numbers.

*  Follow the procedures for dinging the suppliers.

*  Effectively communicate schedule and receiving issues with management.

*  Arrange pallets to support first expire/first out.

*  Print receiving documents from SAP, including incoming shipment report, receiving report and receiving log, and trailer inspection form.

*  Take out or load empty pallets, cardboard bales, and bulk bags. 

*  Correctly receive onions, coatings, packaging materials, beer and other materials using SAP & WMS.

*  Correctly receive oil and other non-inventory items using SAP.

*  Complete all receiving requirements and paperwork in an accurate and timely matter.

*  Moves inventory in SAP to the correct issuing or warehouse location.

*  Completes forklift inspections at the beginning of the shift.

 

ONION HOPPERS

*  Maintain constant supply of onions to the production lines with the oldest onions and the correct onion size.

*  Manually dump 50 lb bags of onions into hoppers or use the hoist to dump bulk bags of onions.

*  Place carts under end cutters to catch onion scrap when necessary.

*  Transport and dump carts of onion scrap and other waste.

*  Perform general housekeeping work, including remove excess scrap from end cutters, shovel or sweep scrap from floors, flush floors with water.  Assist with machinery cleaning as required.

*  Rinse and sanitize end cutting and peeler machinery during line breaks.

*  Issue onions to the correct work order in SAP.

*  Accurately note onion usage in RTM.

 

BREADING HOPPER ROOM

*  Maintain constant supply of batter and breading to the production lines.

*  Load pallets of batter and breading onto the elevator and operate to bring up to the breading hopper room.

*  Manually dump bags weighing up to 50 lbs into the hoppers following plant procedure.

*  Transfer bulk breading and batter to the lines.

*  Dump breading on the line.

*  Understand product codes and batter and breading codes, and use proper raw materials for the item being produced.

*  Stage materials for start-up for the next shift or for changeovers.

*  Bale empty bags when necessary.

*  Issues breading and batter to the correct work order in SAP.

*  Stage breading and batter in SAP to the correct location.

*  Accurately note breading and batter usage in RTM.

 

FREEZER

*  Transport finished product to the freezer at a pace that ensures no disruption of line flows.

*  Keep the packaging area supplied with  proper raw materials, including Klick/Kloks, masters, and film.

*  Stack cases onto slip sheets or pallets.

*  Know product codes for making pallet tags for product.

*  Use slip sheeter.

*  Understand freezer layout.

*  Understand what to do when a HOLD situation occurs  and assist the QC tech.

*  Operates labeler to ensure products are labeled correctly.

*  Correctly receives and located finished goods in WMS.

*  Properly stage packaging materials in SAP to correct locations

 

STRETCH WRAPPER

*  Monitor the stretch wrapping of the finished product.

*  Load film.

*  Replace reflectors as needed.

*  Check photo eyes to ensure proper alignment.

*  Troubleshoot as necessary and call maintenance promptly to avoid shutting down the lines.

 

OTHER

Communicate with the production supervisors, line leads, QC and packaging technicians throughout the shift as needed.

*  Ensure forklift batteries are charged as routine maintenance.

*  Understand and follow established sanitation, food safety and safety rules and procedures.

*  Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.

*  Train as required.
