Position Summary

 We are looking for an Engineering Intern to join us for a 4-month period, starting in May 2024.

 

This position will be based out of our Appleton, WI office.

 

In this position, you will take your current skills and your ability to learn from the classroom in order to solve problems with McCain’s Appetizer Engineering group. Like our full time engineers, you will be expected to be resourceful and self-sufficient as you support our five appetizer plants and our major initiatives.

 

The Team
 
The Apps Engineering team consists of ten individuals reporting to the Director of Apps Engineering. We have a variety of backgrounds from multiple engineering fields and a wide range of developmental backgrounds. We support engineering efforts in five plants across North America building and executing capital projects, testing new technology, and finding ways to reduce our impact on the environment.

  

What You Will Be Working On

 Like our corporate engineers, your work can be very fluid and may change depending on current needs. Examples of what you could be working on include:

  •  Safety walks/observations
  • I/O checkouts & commissioning
  • Field verification of drawings
  • Deficiency list management
  • Parts management and distribution
  • Training coordination and documentation
  • Asset, BOM, and PM route creation
  • Warehouse and process data system construction
  • Assist with project implementation/commissioning
  • Identifying process inefficiency & creating solutions
  • Procurement document creation

What You Need to be Successful

  •  Safety focused with the courage to question practices to keep self and others safe
  • Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline, preferably Sophomore or Junior standing
  • Must have exceptional analytical skills and be able to work with complex data
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work with speed and accuracy
  • Must be a self-motivated, analytical and independent thinker.
  • Results focused.  Bias towards action, able to synthesize multiple pieces of information and act decisively
  • Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Excellent problem solving, organization and planning skills.
  • High proficiency in tools used for data analysis such as Excel is a must; AutoCAD is a plus
  • Car travel within Wisconsin may be required. The Engineering intern is expected to provide their own car
