Position Title: Manager - Sales Operations

The Sales Operations Manager will be the tactical Commercial commander for Supply Chain, bringing an Indirect and Direct Commercial Sales perspective to customer-facing challenges specific to forecasting, demand and customer policy adherence.  The individual will utilize data analytics to provide clarity to demand/supply issues or opportunities and will work closely with Demand Planning and the Commercial Sales and/or Marketing organizations.  The role may also collaborate with Supply Planning as needed around manufacturing or crop/supply challenges and the need for customer prioritization.  The individual will also collaborate with the Business Optimization Team, taking Commercial accountability for customer order policy analytics and resulting Commercial actions.  This role will manage and facilitate the sales demand edit activities, and the Demand Review Meetings on a periodic basis. Finally, this individual will be accountable for owning the process of gating, vetting, sponsoring and tracking new Commercial volume opportunities.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
•    Lead and manage the Demand Planning Team on significant demand vs. forecast shifts to ensure timely development of an agreed upon forecast which ties to Financial projections.  
•    Driving culture of analysis and execution taking ownership of identified issues in demand planning to drive quantifiable solutions and positive business results.
•    Manage the coaching for improved demand plan accuracy by track and report against forecasting accuracy at sales region level 
•    Co-chair in the Demand Consensus process to maintain a clear view of demand drivers and provide Commercial perspective on recommended actions
•    Create and manage a share forecasting best practices with the Sales organization
•    Point person for gaining sales input/alignment to demand projections and sharing with Demand Planning
•    Gain a working knowledge of McCain manufacturing network capabilities to provide Customer-centric recommendations for service prioritization and recovery
•    Actively support the review customer order policy dashboards with the Sales Ops Director to identify customer opportunities for engagement and value co-creation
•    Communicate identified customer order policy opportunities to Sales on a regular cadence and track improvements/gains
•    Conduct product analyses and provide input in support of Business Optimization portfolio optimization initiatives (ex: ingredient consolidation initiatives or similar)
•    Commercial point for vetting new volume opportunities.  Manage opportunity logs and provide regular reporting to sales leads on open/available capacity
•    Provide ad hoc analyses in support of demand variance analytics and customer prioritization 

 

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
•    Bachelor’s degree required
•    Proven analytical and problem solving skills, supported by proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
•    Capability to manage, manipulate, analyze and make recommendations from large data sets
•    Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities at all times
•    Highly effective verbal and written communication skills 
•    Attention to detail and pride in accuracy
•    Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization
•    SAP experience preferred
•    Power BI experience preferred

 

Required Length & Type of Experience: 
•    7-10 years of experience in Sales Operations, Supply Chain/Sales Planning, ideally both
•    Previous involvement in demand/forecasting discipline
•    Experience with analytics and drawing implications from data
