McCain Foods is seeking a Customer Marketing Manager to join our growing team!

 

McCain Foods is on a journey toward market leadership, aiming to delight our customers and consumers with our planet-friendly foods.  Our commercial vision to be the undisputed partner of choice amongst key operators in North America is supported by a team of Customer Marketers that help drive the strategy of our two category teams (Potatoes and Shareables and Snackables) through to customers, with a focus on category growth, segment trends and consumer needs.

 

The Customer Marketing Manager take marketing strategy and priorities from our two categories, as well as a deep understanding of customer and segment insights and translates them into gold standard activation with our Strategic Accounts and Special Markets Group team.  Working closely with the Senior Brand Manager – National Accounts, position will serve to elevate our customer’s perceptions of McCain as a partner for growth using consumer savvy insights, foodservice industry trends and operator relevant solutions.  As Customer Marketing Manager, you will work cross-functionally with our Foodservice Sales and Category Marketing teams, as well as other functional groups within the organization.  Responsibilities will include assisting in the development of medium to long range account plans, enterprise selling for Consumer led platforms, value proposition development, segment overviews, budget reporting and performance analysis.  This is role will cover our Foodservice business across North America.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1.    Assist in the development and execution of customer specific account plans to maximize profitable sales of McCain branded Potato and Shareable and Snackable products and Customer private label.  This would include but not be limited to: use of existing and custom research, development of promotions and LTOs, support of branded and private label product development initiatives, food show/conference support, utilization of culinary and R&D resources.
2.    Active involvement in using consumer led marketing insights to creating customer-specific initiatives to grow Potato and Shareable and Snackable business with key Strategic Account, Convenience Store and Grocery Deli selling teams.
3.    Provide a day-to-day point of contact for McCain Strategic Account, Convenience Store and Grocery Deli sales team and customers, facilitating tactical business support and promotional programming development as needed 
4.    Work with Sales to support trade shows and customer events, providing category and industry expertise 
5.    Provide assistance to the Sales organization to facilitate their success with appropriate business solutions. This will include providing information and expertise on capabilities, products, trends and markets dynamics
6.    Manage customer marketing budget and ROI
7.    Conduct business analysis and reporting (sales, profits, competitive activity, promotional results, etc.) and respond to customer requests/inquiries in a professional and timely manner
8.    Assist in the development of the overall customer growth strategy with a focus on appropriate category, segment and account targeting for future business growth
9.    Other project/duties as assigned or needed

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES REQUIRED:

•    Bachelor degree in Business Administration with Marketing emphasis or related field, MBA preferred but not required  

•    Minimum two years of business experience required in Foodservice or CPG marketing or National Account Sales or Commercial organization.  Customer/Trade Marketing experience desired but not required.  Food category, Frozen Foods and/or Foodservice Marketing experience a plus
•    Proficiency with PC applications in the areas of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point

•    Self-starter and independent thinker with the ability to understand business fundamentals from an opportunity or challenge perspective, then convert that insight to sustainable strategies and action plans for growth

•    Entrepreneurial approach to driving a business with an ability to influence the organization

•    Proven ability and desire to develop strategic acumen, analytical abilities, communication skills and capable of independent decision making and setting business vision

•    Ability to convert quantitative and qualitative research/information into actionable insights and customer solutions; Familiarity with foodservice industry market research and data sources (NPD, Datassentials, Technomic, etc.) preferred but not required

•    Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks.  Ability to work under pressure, balancing multiple projects in a fast paced environment.  Ability to work independently or as part of a team

•    Excellent written and oral communication skills (including strong presentation skills), analytical ability, decision making skills.
