JOB SUMMARY

 

The Global FS&Q Systems & Compliance Manager is pivotal to assure compliance to McCain FSQ Management System in a consistent way across the organisation; and to assure that standards are clear, meet regulatory requirements and underpin continued sustained FS and Q performance. The successful individual. This position collaborates with the Quality Leadership Team as well as cross-functional departments, like manufacturing, maintenance, engineering R&D, to drive continuous improvement and uphold our commitment to delivering safe and high-quality food products to customers and consumers.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountabilities include but are not limited to;
 

Auditing and Monitoring:

  • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and assessments across site networks to monitor compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Develop audit plans, evaluate findings, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to address any identified gaps or non-compliance issues.
  • Provide guidance and support to the plant teams on the corrective actions that need to be taken at plant level to bridge the gaps found.

 

Training and Education:

  • Provide training to employees at all levels to ensure a strong understanding of food safety principles, quality requirements, and compliance protocols.
  • Foster a culture of awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement in food safety and quality practices.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to ensure consistent implementation and enforcement of the McCain QMS across the plants in accountability.
  • Assure the auditing criteria is properly known, understood, and calibrated among the plants.

 

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, records, and reports related to Food Safety and Quality compliance activities.
  • Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging issues related to Food Safety and Quality, and proactively integrate relevant updates into the compliance standards.
  • Prepare reports on compliance status, audit findings, corrective actions, and quality performance metrics, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending strategies for enhancing compliance performance.
  • Oversee the documentation and record-keeping processes related to Food Safety and Quality compliance, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of records.

 

Analysis & Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze data, identify trends, and implement measures to optimize operations, reduce risks, and improve overall compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and share insights, drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance systems, processes, and performance.
  • Drive focus on the standards that will improve and sustain performance across a core set of metrics and indicators.
  • Identify and assess potential Food Safety and Quality hazards, vulnerabilities, and risks within the organization's processes, products, and supply chain. Co-create and implement risk mitigation strategies, including preventive controls, monitoring systems, and corrective actions.

 

Required qualifications and experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology, or a related field, A relevant Master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years in food safety and quality assurance roles, with a focus on compliance management, preferably in the food manufacturing or production industry.
  • A minimum of 3 years conducting food safety and quality audits, inspections, and risk assessments, including a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.  
  • Experience evolving and leading multisite QMS programs.
  • Experience working in a global organization and driving global initiatives. 
  • Strong knowledge of international food safety regulations, standards, and requirements, such as Codex Alimentarius, European Union regulations, FDA regulations, and country-specific regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of diverse Quality Management Systems, such as GFSI standards, AIB, and experience in implementing and maintaining such systems.
  • Strong leadership, influencing and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others, foster collaboration, and drive a culture of compliance excellence.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential risks, hazards, or non-compliance issues through careful observation and analysis of data and documentation.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills in service of analyzing data, conducting risk assessments, and performing root cause analyses. Ability to interpret complex information, identify patterns, and make informed decisions based on evidence and data.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions to problems in order to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Time Management: The ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential in this role.
     

Required Travel: estimated 40 to 50%
