Position Title:Global Commodities Risk Management Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically minded individual to join the Global Commodities team. This person will manage a variety of commodities and economic reports, supporting both the commodities and sourcing teams on specific commodities analysis with basic market knowledge of:

  • Commodities categories (Edible Oils, Grains, Dairy, Energy and Packaging)
  • Global commodities experience and knowledge (NA, CE, GB, ANZ, China, India, South Africa and LATAM)
  • Commodities risk management (Future & Options and OTCs via 3rd parties or suppliers)

 

Communications and Interactions – The person will support multiple internal and external organizational relationships with sourcing, finance, treasury, and other stakeholders as well as market intelligence partners such as consultants and banks. Cross functional collaboration and engagement is critical to be successful in this role.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Think big and plan ahead by supporting strategy development with sourcing teams:
    • Monitor commodities information as well as hedging activities and coverage levels
    • Econometric modeling for commodities analysis to support strategy development.
  2. Act like an owner by being accountable for individual performance and achieving agreed targets
  3. Leverage our data to engage and build an effective relationship with McCain finance and leadership to deliver our company and team goals 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preference in Finance, Economics, or Business) 
  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in procurement with a focus on component costing and/or support of financial reporting 
  • Knowledge in the food industry is desired
  • Experience using SAP is desired

 

This is a hybrid role based out of our corporate office located in Oak Brook, Illinois.
