Position Title: Director, Global Maintenance

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time ​

This highly visible and critical role will define and develop the systems, skills, and training to support world class Maintenance execution in our network. Deliverables include asset life extension, plant OEE improvement, and plant capacity liberation. This role will also be the key link between Global Maintenance to the MDI (Maintenance) and Digital Manufacturing (MDI X AI) effort.



  • Lead the Maintenance effort globally, with all Regional Maintenance Leaders reporting dotted line to this role,
  • Lead and manage the Global Maintenance Organization.
  • Develop and implement global programs to drive improvement in these areas:
  • Asset Life Extension - significant contributor to the overall capex efficiency program.
  • Leverage AM and PM approaches as a part of MDI.
  • Unplanned Maintenance Downtime Reduction across the network
  • OEE Improvement
  • MRO Inventory optimization
  • Capacity Liberation Effort
  • Drive innovations in this space, e.g., condition-based maintenance (Augury/ Symphony), Prometheus and Predictive Maintenance.  Partnership closely with Digital Manufacturing (MDI X AI) team.
  • Ongoing coaching and support in the live environment for all maintenance leaders in each region/plant (including travel)
  • Driving and global and standardized approach
  • Lead and Provide Engineering oversight for ANZ and SAF regions.
  • Recruit, train and develop the next generations of maintenance and engineering leaders for McCain

  • Education:
  • Tertiary qualification or recognized trade in field of Mechatronics Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Leadership Abilities: 

  • Proven capability to develop and maintain strong collaborative business relationships across global and regional functions
  • Ability to influence effective decision-making with cross-functional teams
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with diversity and inclusion sensitivity
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively and persuasively articulate positions (electronically and verbally) to various audiences and at all levels of the business
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks and measure progress across multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and within teams on both strategy and tactical projects with minimal supervision.
  • Program management skills: identification and management of stakeholders, milestone development and tracking of progress, resource management, risk mitigation, detailed action planning, and basic familiarity with change management.

Business Acumen:

  • General business insight, cost control and the ability to manage complexity within the maintenance environment.
  • Ability to interact at various levels within the global integrated supply chain and to support and promote global initiatives, for e.g., SCA, MDI, MDI X AI.

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • >15 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and/or engineering , preferably the food industry
  • Proven track record in plant maintenance management
  • Proven track record to drive results through influencing, persuading and collaboration


  • Willingness to travel internationally/regionally up to 30% of available time
  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones
