We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead our US Retail Potato Brand Marketing Team.  Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing for our North American Potato portfolio, this individual will lead a team of brand marketers in delivering against annual operating plans, strategies, and key initiatives, as well as portfolio goals & objectives for our Retail potato portfolio.  Responsible for all aspects of the marketing mix to drive consumer demand in the Retail channel, the Marketing Director will act as the strategic business leader, partnering with Sales, Innovation, Commercial Planning, Customer Marketing, Insights, and other functional groups within the organization. The ideal candidate is a solutions-oriented, forward thinker who has experience leading cross-functional teams and developing talent. 

 

How You’ll Help:

  • Coach and develop a team of 1 direct reports and 2 indirect reports, creating an engaged, inclusive, and high-performing team
  • Direct the development and execution of annual strategic plans, identifying growth opportunities and developing key strategies and tactics to enable delivery of financial objectives, including volume, net sales, gross margin, OI, and market share
  • Manage product portfolio, proactively identifying key levers that positively impact the P&L, and adjusting as needed to achieve annual operating plan objectives
  • Own business reporting and ongoing dashboards, staying current on industry trends, proactively analyzing and reporting on category, customer, and business performance leveraging internal and external data sources (IRI/Circana, etc.) and taking action with cross-functional partners as required
  • Effectively influence and engage with senior leaders in key meetings/forums, such as AOC/Commercial Reviews, Innovation Reviews, and PLT/SLT meetings
  • Partner with:
    • Commercial Planning to deliver the long-range plan and optimize overall portfolio value proposition
    • Customer Marketing to deliver high-impact go-to-market activation deployed in line with portfolio business strategy
    • Insights to build research and knowledge agenda, championing in-depth understanding of the operator, consumer, and competitive landscape
    • Innovation to develop 3-year innovation/renovation pipeline and support the commercialization of new products
    • Integrated Marketing Team and agencies to develop and implement marketing comms campaigns (creative + media mix) and promotional plans - measuring results to drive ROI optimization
    • Sales to optimize trade plans/programs and pricing to deliver sales objectives effectively, efficiently, and profitably
  • Manage marketing spending budget and report on spending results and ROI

  • Capable of prioritizing and setting business vision while ensuring alignment from key stakeholders

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA strongly preferred
  • Previous P&L management experience
  • Experience deriving insights from both primary consumer research and syndicated data
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills  
  • Minimum of 10+ years of Marketing/Brand Management experience in the US Retail market within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, with a minimum of 5 years in food
