Position Title: Timekeeper Sr

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide hourly payroll and tracking of hourly production labor costs at the factory level and to process employee identification cards. This is completed by using the Kronos timekeeping system, related programs, working with supervisors and leaders, performing spot checks on hourly employees and production on a shift basis.  The purpose of this is to be assured that employee’s hours are accurate for the employees’ payroll, to tie direct labor to CMS, and to ensure the accountabilities are correct.

 

In addition, this position is responsible for training all incoming timekeepers and to fill in for another timekeeper if absent due to illness or vacation.  This position is responsible for uploading and reporting labor costs for payroll processing and making adjustments if necessary.

 

Job Functions

Essential Functions:

PRODUCTION:

  • Data entry of the cases for third shift in the Access Data Base.
  • Production entry for third shift.
  • First point of contact regarding any shifts with the QC Warehouse coordinator.
  • Create work orders for production.
  • Troubleshoot issues with scheduling coordinator.
  • Create the Preliminary Excel Spreadsheet daily.
  • Enter 101-102 scheduling into the Prelim Spreadsheet daily.

Payroll:

  • Check punches for all hourly employees.
  • Run time sheets daily for all hourly employees.
  • Poll hours, and run the time sheets for the Associated Staffing group.
  • Update timesheets daily for any upgrades, vacation, absences, etc.
  • Maintain and update the calendars for groups (101-102, 107, 108, 109, 110, 113, 114, 116, and 117.
  • Balance the vacation report and the employee calendars and send updated report to the perspective supervisors, monthly.
  • Prepare Notice of Corrective Actions, in relation attendance and badging.
  • Update Kronos system: new hires, terminations, change of status and scheduling updates.
  • Import employee data to update the general ledger accounts.
  • Run the following payroll reports:
    • Pre post and submit hours to corporate.
    • Expanded Labor Analysis.
    • Daily Labor Detailed Report.
    • Weekly Associated Report.
    • Back feed to the system.
  • Make adjustments, for any current payroll errors.
  • Update badge information in Kronos.
  • Create temporary badges for employees.
  • Enter any meetings outside regular business (HR, Safety, MCE, etc.)
  • Trouble shoots or upgrades to Kronos.
  • Balance recharge labor and tie back to general ledger accounts.

Working Conditions

Employee is primarily in an office, may be exposed to fumes from the production facility.

 

 

Job Qualification Requirements

 

  1. Skill and Knowledge:

The incumbent must have a solid working knowledge of a personal computer (Excel, Word and Access), interpersonal skills, accounting/bookkeeping background, and good organizational skills.  Employee should be flexible with working hours, must be able to work over eight hours per day, and at times, seven days per week.  Must have the ability to proof his/her own work. Must be able to prioritize his/her time and work without direct supervision.
