Job Summary

Perform general cleaning and custodial duties of the facility.

 

Job Functions

 

Essential Functions:

  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Use vacuum on carpeted surfaces.
  • Dust and dry clean hard surfaces.
  • Wet clean and sanitize appropriate hard surfaces including floors and bathroom surfaces.
  • Empty the trash bins and replace liners.
  • Refill supplies.
  • Notify sanitation supervisor of unusual or hazardous sanitation issues.
  • Utilize and follow MSDS information and HACCP rules when wet cleaning with chemicals.
  • Assist Groundskeeper with projects (i.e. painting, special cleaning) as assigned.
  • Other custodial duties as assigned
  • Strictly adheres to all company and plant policies concerning safety, performing proper lockout, Tag-Out procedures, using proper lifting techniques, wearing, effectively, all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, proper walking/stepping and all other safety procedures related to your duties.
  • Adhere to all company and plant policies related to GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Principles).
  • Learn the BOS system and update daily if time permits. If time does not permit give the information to a lead person to enter for you.
  • Adhere to all company and plant policies, work rules and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is rarely exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment occasionally requires hearing protection.

 

Qualifications

 

 

  • Mental
  • High school education or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
