THE ROLE

The primary responsibility of the Transportation Analyst is to work with Supply Chain stakeholders to identify, capture, gather, analyze, document, validate and communicate relevant data for use in managing the costs associated with transportation.  This will include development, design, implementation and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics, cost analysis and identifying savings opportunities.

 

The ideal candidate for this position is curious about our business and understands the importance of enabling data-driven decision making.  You must possess superb analytical capabilities, outstanding business insight, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.  You must be able to work independently within broad guidelines, function effectively under time constraints and work on a number of projects simultaneously. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop an expert level understanding of major business processes and associated data within the transportation space
  • Assist with volume and requirement forecasting for transportation
  • Rate and pricing analysis
  • Reporting and KPI tracking, including On Time Delivery tracking and analysis
  • Provide support and backup to SAP Logistics, TMS and FourKites Super User, as necessary
  • Provide analytical support for projects, new business opportunities and proposals
  • Provide periodic training to ISC groups for report interpretation
  • Identify, gather and interpret relevant data to assist with root cause analysis and problem resolution
  • Support evaluation of opportunities for optimization of current transportation network that results in performance improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement within the transportation team
  • Participate in cross-functional teams supporting supply chain process improvement projects
  • Ability to manage multiple requests at one time while meeting (or exceeding) stakeholder expectations.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
  • 1-2 years Supply Chain experience, familiar with logistics, transportation and warehouse concepts.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
  • Thorough, detail oriented with the ability to work with speed and accuracy.
  • Results focused.  Bias towards action, able to analyze multiple pieces of information and act decisively.
  • Effective communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Tact and diplomacy - ensure professionalism when dealing with internal customers and outside vendors - ability to build strong relationships.
  • Self-motivated with leadership skills and a desire to learn and grow.  
  • Excellent problem solving, organization and planning skills.
  • Understanding and exposure to SAP transactional research and error resolution would be a plus.
  • Experience with TMS and 4Kites would be an asset
