Position Title: Engineer Process

McCain Foods Limited has a career opportunity for a Full-Time Process Engineer. The Process Engineer is responsible for identifying, testing and implementing emerging technologies to deliver growth through new products, processes, quality or cost benefits.

• Develop technology specifications for new technology for pilot testing, validation, prototype installation at plant level.
• Provide deep technical expertise of identified technology, providing clear communication of its benefits and limitations to business stakeholders.
• Investigate and create links to industry leading experts and suppliers, non-competing business and research institutes/companies to identify emerging and transferrable technologies.
• Use data analytical tools and develop processing improvements to drive performance for existing equipment and new installations that bring breakthrough performance.
• Lead and provide best practices with respect to the integration of technical expertise and manufacturing into product development.
• Committed to Best-in-Class safety culture. 
• Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.

• University degree required in Engineering (ChemicIndustrial, Mechanical, Electrical,  etc.) or a related field

Leadership Abilities: 
• Ability to build strong relationships across a broad range of functions and support their efforts through a collaborative approach. Ability to influence effective decision-making with cross-functional business teams.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface successfully with others representing diverse styles and cultures associated with global business.

• Ability to be self-motivated, drive results and achieve critical deadlines.


Technical Capabilities:
• Project management skills: chartering, milestone development, scoping,resourcing, detailed action planning, risk analysis
• Technical report writing
• Strong analytical, problem solving and abstract thinking skills.
• Ability to understand process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and process narratives.
• First principle knowledge of processing equipment and processing methods.
• Knowledge of manufacturing philosophies and basic manufacturing SOP’s.
• Experience with start-up management concepts and equipment commissioning.

Business Acumen:
• Ability to contribute to a broad range of operational and business issues. Ability to make decisions considering the broader implications of these decisions to the organization and all stakeholders.
• Capable of understanding basic to mid-level financial reports and use that information to justify decisions

Required Length & Type of Experience:
• 0-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and Food Manufacturing is also an advantage, but not mandatory. Previous experience in a technical, engineering, and/or an R&D role is an asset. Leadership and project management experience is a definite plus.
