Position Title: Easton- General Maint Field Worker - Days

Field General Laborer

$25.13 per hr.

Summary

 

Works with harvest crew to efficiently unload potatoes into company storage facilities.

 

Qualifications

Essential Duties Include the following: 

 

Assist with storage and equipment maintenance as needed.

 

Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

 

Clean potato storage facilities.

 

Disinfect equipment as needed.

 

Guide trucks into storage areas for unloading.

 

Level potato storage piles to ensure even air distribution, as needed.

 

On-site Requirement - Must perform duties onsite.

 

Operate forklift in accordance with company policy.

 

Prepare culverts to be used in storage facilities

Responsible for daily and downtime sanitation.

 

Separate foreign material and rotten product from good product.

 

Watch unloading operations for equipment breakdowns and react as needed.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 

Required to complete certification through the McCain Operator Training Program

 

Have or be able to obtain:

 

McCain Forklift Certification and

Valid Maine State drivers license.

 

Computer Skills                                                 

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of computer usage.

 

Education                                   

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

 

Experience                   

 

Minimum three months related experience and/or training.

 

Language Skills                                                 

 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                          

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
