About the Role

Operations Analyst

Brampton, ON



The Operations Analyst is a key member of the Operations team and would be an active participant in operational analysis to identify budget variance, develop variance trend analysis and track operational expense. Manages metrics to drive results, including supporting managers in the preparation of forecasts and budgets, and collaborating with the operations team on various initiatives.



How You’ll Help

  • Conducts monthly analysis on the operational costs to identify all variance to budget for the month.
  • Reviews the monthly budget analysis results, preparing plans and recommendations.
  • Prepares trend analysis from the monthly results, and develops project plans to move the trend to acceptable levels when required.
  • Works with Regional Operations Managers, to ensure that the monthly spends fall within budget.
  • Creates visual indicators for operational leaders to track and understand spend issues and trends.
  • Work with finance and IT to draw information from financial systems and also manage reports to ensure consistent and accurate financial data.
  • Prepare monthly statistics for managers to understand and track monthly spend to budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual operations budget.
  • Provide launch services within budgetary constraints along with transition to post-launch operaions
  • Other projects related to operational metrics as required


Your Skills & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education, with a major in Business Administration or  with a focus on financial analysis.
  • Additional Certification in CITT would be an asset.
  • 5+ years operational transportation background
  • Project managemen is an asset
  • Exceptional numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet/exceed deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with a team
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
  •  English (verbal/written/spoken) required; French or other languages are an asset
  • Able to work with little supervision
  • Supervises and provides leadership to financial analysts and to non-financial managers in the various business units
