About the Role 

Driver Recruiter

Day & Ross is looking for Driver Recruiters in Pennsylvania (York, Roulette & Carlisle), Michigan (Romeo & Detroit) and Ohio (Columbus). The Driver Recruiter is accountable to prospect, attract and hire prospective Owner Operators and Brokers within their geographic region. They will be responsible for the recruiting for both Line haul and Pick Up and Delivery requirements drivers. This individual would be self-motivated, competitive and detail-oriented with a head hunter mindset. 


How You’ll Help 

  • Achieve and exceed assigned new hire goals within your targeted geographic territory. 

  • Maintain productivity standards; be focused and dedicated to finding qualified drivers by conducting interviews and following screening process. 

  • Provide effective and innovative recruiting and sourcing solutions. 

  • Explore new opportunities in order to locate new streams of applicants; truck shows, truck stops, conferences, networking events and grass roots campaigns. 

  • Coordinate and host job fairs in your geographic region(s). 

  • Research and gain an understanding of the drivers’ industry, challenges and needs. 

  • Maintain an out-going “hunter” personality with the desire to develop in the Recruiting field. 

  • Maintain long-term and short-term funnel of applicants. 

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as directed. 


Your Skills & Experience 

  • Minimum of secondary education, with preference of post-secondary education, or a combination of education and experience. 

  • Minimum of two years’ of sales or recruiting experience, within the transportation industry would be an asset but not a requirement.  

  • Owner Operator experience considered a strong asset. 

  • Advanced communication skills, verbal and written. 

  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision are essential. 

  • Ability to work independently is imperative. 

  • Professional, responsive, and a positive work attitude. 

  • Results-focused mindset is a must. 


A willingness to travel up to 20% is a requirement for this position.
