About the Role
Administrative Coordinator
Romeo, MI


Responsible for support and administration for the Registered Apprenticeship Program in the assigned region. Using a collaborative approach, the RA Administrative Coordinator supports the Program in areas of candidate review and tracking, document management, liaising with external stakeholders such as Michigan Works and Truck Driving Schools, and general administrative support to the Program Manager and HRBP.


How You’ll Help

  • Recording RA candidates applications, resumes and employment contracts
  • Recording all education and training records for candidates
  • Recording all OJT Competencies achievements for candidates
  • Providing documentation to Michigan Works as necessary/required
  • Providing documentation to associated Truck Driving Schools as necessary/required
  • Respond to any queries from Driver recruiters
  • Track Driver Trainer Candidates training and safety reports
  • Support the Registered Apprenticeship Program Manager
  • Providing scheduled reports to HR and Recruiting to track Program Success
  • Monitor Attendance Report and follow up with Program Manager to resolve concerns
  • Promote and communicate HR policies and benefits to incoming candidates and graduates
  • Other related duties as may be required.


Your Skills & Experience: 

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in Human Resources; business administration or another related program may also be considered.
  • An alternate suitable combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an HR functional or support role, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Solid computer skills: keyboarding accuracy and experience with Microsoft Office products and web based programs
  • Inclination for learning new programs
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship management skills throughout all levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to facilitate training workshops on a variety of topics
  • Good business acumen
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and take direction from several people
  • Appropriate sense of urgency
  • Knowledgeable in federal employment laws, as well as HR best practices
